Ismaël Ariel

I am Ismaël Ariel Kagou Manga — a 21-year-old engineer from Yaoundé, Cameroon, building toward a career at the intersection of cloud security, data science, and financial infrastructure.

I did not follow a straight line to get here. I taught myself software engineering through ALX Africa at a time when the program was free and I had nothing but hunger and a laptop. I stopped at month 8 when life pushed back. Then I went back and finished — because ALX had already made me someone who finishes hard things.

At Afriland First Bank, I got my first real look at what it means to protect financial systems from the inside. I migrated a BI platform, designed access controls that cut security breaches by 25%, and built bilingual training materials for 200 people — all before turning 21. That experience showed me where my two worlds — data and security — could collide in ways that genuinely matter.

In September 2026, I begin a Master's in Cybersecurity Engineering at ESME in Paris. My target is clear: Cloud Security Engineer in the financial sector, specializing in the place where AI-driven threat detection meets compliance automation. I am building the certification stack — AWS, CCSP, CISA, CISSP — methodically, one layer at a time.

I speak French natively, English professionally, and a little Chinese. I write about technology and share what I learn. I believe the most powerful thing a young African engineer can do is build in public, share the journey, and refuse to be invisible.
